Department - Engineering Services
SUMMARY
Primary responsibilities include illustrating technical manuals, reviewing engineering documents as they relate to manuals, and support team members as required. Recognized as a focal authority to the group and by management. Able to conduct classes and assist illustrators at all levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
- Illustrate components in perspective (isometric/diametric) and other views that are dimensionally accurate based on engineering drawings
- Assess art packages to determine cost and requirement necessary to customers style guide
- Understand all aspects of a project (e.g. estimated time for completion costs; create artwork according to communication with co-workers concerning parameters and requirements necessary to complete job)
- Assists supervisors and team leaders as requested
- Performs quality inspections as assigned
- Assists in the development of methods and procedures of formatting and drawing sub-assemblies and components in disassembly order
- Provide training to new illustrators (as required)

- Able to manage schedules for projects undertaken, and allocate resources as appropriate to balance schedule, risk, and customer requirements
- Able to work with Senior Management and employees to identify areas of risk and address problems in a timely fashion
- Able to assist Senior Management in the development and administration of the departmental budget and to ensure fiscally responsible use of funds
- Able to write requirements, specifications, and technical analysis documents as required
- Able to work independently as well as in a distributed team environment
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical drawings and support documentation
- Understanding of various publication processes such as editing, illustration, writing, production phases
- Professional familiarity with ATA-100 and ATA iSpec2200 specifications
- Knowledge of aviation industry regulatory bodies (for example, FAA) general requirements
- Must be able to actively pursue learning position and mastering job skills and requirements
- Able to use general office equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of an Associates degree in Graphic Design, Manufacturing Design Technology/related field or equivalent years of experience/training
- Must be proficient with IsoDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, ProE, AutoCAD, and Tech Illustrator. Knowledge of CAD/CAM software helpful.
- Minimum five years experience including product development, marketing, sales, production, finance, accounting, human resources, payroll, and general business operations, as applicable.
- XML/SGML experience a plus
