The Project Manager works with all sources of product development requirements to gather, clarify, prioritize, and schedule enhancement requests.  Conducts business research analysis to validate, update, and finalize design specifications prior to actual software development.  Works with Software Engineers, and QA Analysts, to establish priorities and provide completion estimates for task assignments.  Manages available resources in a manner that maximizes productivity while maintaining high quality standards.  Keeps projects on schedule by conducting regular project meetings, being proactive when balancing resources, communicating often with all team members, and managing expectations.  Distributes periodic project status reports that include accomplishments for the particular time period. Reports task objectives, and any schedule deviations, according to departmental guidelines.

Keeps the department management informed of all product related issues.  

The technical requirements for this position are:

  • B.S. or Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 5+ years software engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years web development
  • 3+ years large-scale project management experience (initiation to completion)
  • 1+ years experience with a Document Management System
  • Significant experience managing software development projects 'hands-on'
  • Experience with Java, JSP/Servlets, JavaScript, OmniMark, and XML Tools
  • Excellent working knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, XSL, and related technologies
  • Familiar with Web Application Servers: Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, WebSphere, etc.
  • Experience with Windows OS, RDBMS Database Systems (i.e. MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.), and MS.NET
  • Solid understanding of software design/development principles, the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and software debugging techniques
  • Familiarity with SGML/XML data, technical content
  • Knowledge of S1000D and ATA iSpec 2200
  • Fluency in English
